David Verdrager, east regional sales manager for Apio Inc., Guadaloupe, Calif., says the company plans to introduce three fresh-cut products in April: Wild Greens and Quinoa salad kit, and two stir fry kits, Shanghai Blend and Kale and Red Chard. All three are in the Eat Smart line.
Del Monte Fresh Produce
Del Monte Fresh Produce NA Inc., Coral Gables, Fla., introduces single-serve watermelon and pineapple spears. Both come in plastic containers of 5 2.7-ounce bags. Del Monte is also expanding its guacamole line on the East Coast, said Randall Freeman (left), vice president of value added sales. John McCann, vice president of Eastern Region sales also pictured.
Kori Tuggle, director of marketing and business development for Ocean Mist Farms, Castroville, Calif., shows the company’s heirloom variety artichoke. She says the variety is from a perennial plant dating back over 90 years, but Ocean Mist just began promoting it that way.
