Southwood Fresh produce consulting firm FreshXperts now has a presence in Canada with the addition of Andrew Southwood as the company’s first associate there.
Anthony Totta, vice chairman of Lee’s Summit, Mo.-based FreshXperts, said in a news release that Southwood would provide management resources and support for FreshXperts’ clients from his base of operations in Montreal.
Southwood is also the director and owner of freshXpressions, a management and consulting company that works with senior executives and management teams to help them develop growth strategies and models.
He began his career with Unilever South Africa in 1986, later becoming the export manager for South African deciduous fruit at Unifruco Ltd., according to the news release.
In the late 1990s Southwood helped with the merger of Unifruco and Outspan International to form Capespan International. Southwood was also involved in establishing Capespan North America.
He graduated from South Africa’s University of Cape Town with a bachelor’s degree in business science and an executive master’s of business administration and advanced management practices.
