Sidney, Ohio-based Freshway Foods is offering a new branded line of individually packaged fresh-cut fruits and vegetables called Power Packs for schools participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.

“Power Packs are two-ounce snack packs that contain 100% usable product and do not require any cutting, cleaning or additional handling,” Dan Purdy, vice president of sales and marketing for Freshway Foods said in a news release. “This enables school foodservice departments to cut time and labor costs while maintaining food safety standards.”

The product line includes a wide selection of fresh produce choices, including regional and ethnic favorites, according to the release.
