Baloian Farms, Fresno, Calif., is moving toward a year-round pepper program and hired Luis Corella to lead a new office in Nogales, Ariz.
In the new position of sales and procurement of Mexico operations for Baloian Farms’ Nogales operations, Corella is tasked with developing grower relations and procurement of Mexican products, according to a news release from the company.
Corella is a native of Nogales and has several years of experience in the produce industry. He previously worked in sales and management for Crown Jewels and J-C Distributing, the release said.
Baloian Farms sales manager Jerry Lane said in the release that the company has been making significant investments in its product line during the past year in an effort to become a year-round pepper supplier.
The expansion of the company’s Nogales operations and the creation of Corella’s position are key to that program goal, Lane said in the release.
