Frieda’s Inc. is offering a variety of specialty foods for consumers with new year’s resolutions focusing on health. To kick off 2014, the Los Alamitos, Calif.-based company is promoting produce that supports healthy lifestyle goals.
“Food trends for 2014 point toward juicing and better snacking. While this year’s trends of clean eating, going meatless, and ‘eating the rainbow’ are still going strong,” said Karen Caplan, president and chief executive officer, in a news release. “Shoppers are looking to make a lifestyle change, not just a New Year’s resolution. The variety of specialty produce available in your store will help them with making that change and keep them coming back for more.”
Frieda’s carries a variety of super foods and products popular with the Paleo dieting trend. For the vegetarian consumer, the company has a “go meatless” category of products including Sunchokes, tofu, yakisoba and udon noodles and Frieda’s Soyrizo and SoyTaco. Fruits and vegetables for juicing, like moro blood orange, heirloom tomatoes, passion fruit, baby beets and young coconut, are available to retailers.
Frieda’s also encourages consumers to snack healthier and drink more water. The specialty supplier carries a variety of specialty fruits like finger limes, Buddha’s hand citron and variegated pink lemon that add flavor to a glass of water.
