Frieda’s joins business women’s hall of fame

Karen CaplanCaplanFrieda’s Inc. has been named to National Women Business Owners Corporation’s Decades of Excellence Hall of Fame.

Los Alamitos, Calif.-based Frieda’s and other companies will be honored May 10 during during the corporation’s conference in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Induction marks certification as a Woman Business Enterprise with the organization for 10 years or more, according to a news release.

The corporation is a third-party certifier for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women Owned Small Business and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business contracting programs.

Frieda’s has been certified annually with the organization since 2002.

“It’s truly an honor for my sister, (vice president and chief operating officer) Jackie Caplan Wiggins, and I to continue to build Frieda’s legacy as one of the most prominent, women-owned businesses in the industry,” chief executive officer Karen Caplan said in the release.

Their mother, Frieda Caplan, founded the company.
