Just in time for the start of the 2011 season, the one year-old Georgia Blueberry Commission, Waycross, has launched the organization’s first website, www.georgiablueberries.org.

Also new to the commission this season — and featured on the website — is a new logo.

“We are proud of the high quality and taste of sweet Georgia blueberries.” Joe Cornelius, commission chairman, said in a news release. “It’s exciting to officially have our own website. It shows that Georgia blueberries have a bright future.”

In addition to the home page, the website offers tabs for recipes, news, general information and nutrition, according to the release. Visitors also may view a promotional video being shown in flight by Atlanta-based Delta Airlines.

With more than 14,000 acres of blueberries, Georgia has the longest blueberry season in the U.S., according to the release.
