Consumer contests highlight the Georgia Peach Council’s summer marketing campaign.

Georgia Peach Council launches consumer contestsThree social media-driven contests are scheduled for this season, which is set to peak in July, according to a news release from the Perry-based council.

In the first contest (, “Pin it to Win it,” consumers will create Pinterest boards to pin and share their favorite Georgia peach recipes.

The second contest ( is an Instagram photo contest.

Winners of each contest, both of which use the hashtag #LoveGeorgiaPeaches, will receive $500.

The third contest is a “Share Your Summer” giveaway, in which consumers will pin photos on their grocery store’s in-store board or on the grocer’s social media channels.

In addition to the three contests, the council is scheduling a series of televised cooking demonstrations in target markets in the Southeast, Northeast and Midwest.

Retailers in those markets will have access to merchandising display bins, posters with tips on how to pick the perfect peach and a retail dietitian toolkit complete with recipes, nutritional information and blog posts.

In addition, in an effort to encourage retail dietitians to communicate benefits of Georgia Peaches, the dietitian with the most social media reach will receive an expenses-paid getaway to the heart of Georgia’s peach country.
