The award is given in honor of the late Tony Puglio, a longtime plant manager at Reading, Pa.-based Giorgio Fresh.
The overall category covers all mushroom varieties: white, brown, shiitake, oyster and the rest, said Bill Litvin, vice president of sales and national account manager. The company also won last year in the same category.
“It’s based mostly on presentation and appearance,” Litvin said.
The event ran Jan. 7-14 at the Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg.
About 400,000 visitors come to the annual show. There are 10,000 competitive and 300 commercial exhibits.
