Giumarra Wenatchee will market its crop of New Zealand meyer lemons again this July.
The excellent grow season lead to fruit with a good sugar-to-acid ratio, according to a news release.
The first shipments should be available July 14. The company is also taking early-season airfreight orders.
“We will have earlier air arrivals for our customers who want to promote meyer lemons for Fourth of July,” Jason Bushong, division manager of Giumarra Wenatchee, said in the release. “The lemon’s unique sweet yet zesty flavor makes it an excellent item to highlight for summer beverages, main courses, and desserts.”
Both bagged and bulk lemons will be available. The company will continue to offer the 2-pound bags of lemon, due to its success during the 2013 season.
“This lemon is equally popular with foodservice and retail customers. We will have a diverse sizing range this season to accommodate the needs of all of our customers,” Bushong said in the release.
Meyer lemon season will extend through September and the product will be available on both the East and West Coasts.
