Giumarra to market R.C.F. Produce mangoes from Mexico

The Giumarra Cos. plans to start marketing mangoes from Nogales, Ariz.-based R.C.F. Produce in late February.

Los Angeles-based Giumarra will be the exclusive distributor for R.C.F. Produce mangoes grown in Mexico, according to a news release.

Shipments of conventional and certified organic fruit should run through September and include kents, hadens, keitts and tommy atkins. Giumarra will also market ataulfos and baby ataulfos.

The mangoes will sell through Giumarra’s offices in Nogales; Vernon, Calif.; and Boca Raton, Fla. Fruit will load in Los Angeles, Nogales, and McAllen, Texas, according to the release.

“Our volume will grow significantly, which will enable us to offer our customers solid, secure programs throughout the season,” Craig Uchizono, Southern Hemisphere vice president at Giumarra, said in the release. “Because we are working directly with the grower, we can custom-pack the fruit as needed for our customers.”

R.C.F. Produce markets fruits and vegetables grown in Sinaloa, Mexico. Its president, Malu Crespo, oversees U.S. operations. Along with her three brothers, Crespo manages product flow from various facilities and orchards throughout Mexico.

“We look forward to starting a new stage where we can grow together, further develop our mango market, and begin exporting some of our other products in the near future,” Jorge Crespo of R.C.F. Produce said in the release.
