GlobalG.A.P. North America, Baltimore, hired Robert Mills as vice president, technical services and training.
Mills has worked in the food industry since 1969, specializing in food safety, quality assurance and microbiology. He has a wide range of industry experience, working in the restaurant, dairy, canned meat, dressing and snack foods industries. He transitioned to the produce industry in 2006 when he joined Tanimura & Antle Inc. as the director of food safety and quality assurance. Mills most recently was at Misionero Vegetables, where he began working as the director of technical services in 2009.
Mills contributed to development of the Leafy Green Marketing Association in California and Arizona and continues to serve on both technical boards today. He is also involved in multiple committees of the United Fresh Produce Association. He has a masters degree in agriculture from the University of Minnesota-St. Paul and bachelor’s degrees in microbiology and zoology from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis.
