Golf tourney raises $50,000 for tree fruit scholarships

Wenatchee-based Washington Apple Education Foundation raised about $50,000 for scholarships and educational programs to benefit tree fruit industry members and their families at its June 4 golf tournament.

The tournament, sponsored by Wilbur Ellis Co. and DuPont, was played at Wenatchee Golf & Country club.

Low net honors were shared by the Sinclair Systems team of Tyler Fischer, Karl Snyder, Cameron Mitchell and David Ramynke; and Bank of the West golfers Brian Birdsall, Casey Garten, Dave Maslyk and David Millheisler, according to a news release.

Low gross was shared by the Decco US team of Randy King, Garrett Babst, Nick Fleisher and Mark Babst, and Dow AgroSciences golfers Lee Gale, Aaron Gale, Neil Johnson and Gregg McPherson.
