(CORRECTED Oct. 27) Green Giant Fresh is making many of its products available in pouches and rolling out other packaging changes, including new graphics.
The pouches include quick-response codes, updated cooking icons and nutrition keys that summarize each product’s health benefits.
Products previously available in clamshells will now be available in pouches.
The smartphone scannable codes take consumers to a mobile website with recipes and product information.
“Our goal is to provide additional value to consumers by helping them make in-store decisions,” Mishalin Modena, senior marketing manager for Salinas, Calif.-based Green Giant Fresh, said in a news release.
“Shoppers today want easy access to information so that they can make educated purchases. Our smart packaging design elements help them do that.”
