Video-enabled barcodes on produce packaging will become possible through a new partnership between Capital Media Group Inc. and Boone, N.C.-based Greenscans Inc.
Video productions made available through the partnership will include interviews with growers and footage of their orchards, farms and packinghouses, David Holden, Capital Media Group executive producer, said in a news release.
Greenscans’ app allows consumers to use a smartphone to access information from the quick-response code, databar or Universal Product Code they find on fruits and vegetables — for brands that have signed up to include their information.
Wellington, Fla.-based Capital Media Group is a rich-media communications and high definition television production company.
“This partnership will equip our clients to seamlessly incorporate video into their barcode scanning strategy, allowing them to create more sophisticated mobile marketing campaigns,” Paul Engelman, Greenscans chief executive officer, said in the release.
