Groups join to host Mid-Atlantic convention

Mid-Atlantic Fruit & Vegetable Convention logoMore than 2,100 growers and allied industry personnel are expected to attend the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Fruit and Vegetable Convention, Jan. 28-30, in Hershey, Pa.

The North American Raspberry and Blackberry Growers Association and the Virginia State Horticultural Society will have their annual meetings in conjunction with the convention.

In addition, the convention offers three days of educational sessions and an accompanying trade show with more than 160 exhibitors, according to a news release.

Included in the educational offerings is a Jan. 29 presentation, titled “Técnicas de Producción de Frutas y Hortalizas,” for Spanish-speaking workers.

The Mid-Atlantic convention is sponsored by the State Horticultural Association of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association, the Maryland State Horticultural Society and the New Jersey State Horticultural Society.

Pennsylvania State University, University of Maryland, Rutgers University Cooperative Extension and the National Peach Council help organize the educational sessions.
