The Defense Commissary Agency has a two-year contract for Hardie’s Fruit & Vegetable Co. LP to supply all fresh produce to its Area 2.

The Dallas-based company will partner with Yancey’s, Loveland, Colo.; Liberty Fruit Co. Inc., Kansas City, Kan.; and Russ Davis in Jamestown, N.D. to provide the produce, according to a news release.

Hardie’s and its partners will supply 33 military commissaries in nine states.

They will provide as many as 500 produce items, like farm produce, exotic fruit and vegetables, potted plants and seasonal decorative items. Also, Hardie’s merchandiser teams will help create in-store building displays, weekly signage, food demonstrations, farmers markets and other on-base events.
