Highline Mushrooms donates to Typhoon relief

highline mushrooms donationHighline MushroomsLeamington, Ontario-based Highline Mushrooms donated a total of more than $18,000 to the Canadian Red Cross for Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts. Highline Mushrooms joined the Leamington, Ontario, Filipino community to raise funds for relief efforts for Typhoon Haiyan.

Over the course of two weeks, employees raised $9,184 toward the fund, which was matched by Highline Mushrooms, for a total donation of $18,368 to the Canadian Red Cross.

The generosity shown by employees was overwhelming, said Susan McBride Friesen, Highline director of human resources, in a news release.

“In times of great disaster, we can always rely on the kindness and support of our associates,” she said in the release.
