Highline rolls out new stuffed portabellas

Courtesy Highline MushroomsLeamington, Ontario-based Highline Mushrooms has introduced two new stuffed portabella products.

Highline’s Rustic Mediterranean and Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato portabellas are available at retail in 8.6-ounce packs, according to a news release.

The items are designed for use as an appetizer, side dish or main entree, and can substitute for a salad or baked potato at meals. Highline is positioning the product as a more healthful, nutritious meal option. Each portabella has about 70 calories.

The new packs were designed to keep each portabella separated to prevent bruising.

Very interesting product, but in an age where food safety is concerned, could we not have a recommened shelf life listed in the press release. This item could do very well in our market.

That speaks volumes from a guy who thinks you can clean everything with a sanitizer.
