Holtzinger Fruit Co., Yakima, Wash., has a new operations manager, Jeramy VanVleck.
VanVleck has more than 15 years of experience in apple packing warehouses. He is a third-generation apple industry worker, and has a background that includes experience in shipping, packing, inventory control, food safety and sales and production coordination.
“As we searched for a director of operations it was paramount that our hire have a wealth of experience in operations with a focus on fruit handling and storage,” said David Lawrence, president, Holtzinger Fruit Co., in a news release.
“They must also understand apples from the grower’s perspective,” he said in the release. “Jeramy’s background illustrates an expertise in fruit handling and storage and insight in understanding the grower’s viewpoint.”
“I look at Holtzinger as a home, not just a job or career. I really like how everyone at Holtzinger is an ‘advocate for the grower’ and they really enjoy and believe in what they are doing,” VanVleck said in the release.
