Horticulture association signs deal with Mexican food bank

Representatives of the Mexican Association of Protected Horticulture have signed a deal with the Mexican Association of Food Banks to provide vegetables to Mexicans in need. Carlos Cueto Rodríguezand Alfredo Díaz Belmontes, the association’s president and director general, met with José Antonio Magdaleno Velasco, director general of the food bank, to sign the agreement in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The association is asking its 280 members — throughout 25 Mexican states — to donate food to the 61 food bank locations. The members make up a network of greenhouse vegetable producers, packers, distributors and marketers nationwide. This deal aims to improve the nutrition and the quality of life of the most vulnerable citizens in the country.
