Robinson and Associated Food Stores who challenged retailers to create back-to-school displays. When C.H. Robinson and Associated Food Stores challenged retailers to create back-to-school displays for Welch’s grapes, one effort proved particularly popular with parents and children at Broulim’s Fresh Foods in Rigby, Idaho.

The Broulim’s produce crew designed and built a back-to-school bus using grape boxes. A banner encouraged shoppers and students to “Make it a Grape School Year.” Children were able to wander in and out and around the bus while their parents shopped, according to a news release from C.H. Robinson, Eden Prairie, Minn.

Retailers had a three-week promotional price for Welch’s fresh grapes and were challenged to develop a creative way to drive sales in the category, according to the release.

About 50 Associated Food Store retail members participate in the promotion. When Associated calculated category sales, they found a 63% increase in sales after the promotion.
