An Israel-based cold chain specialist has introduced a new automated cold chain management system.
Migdal Tefen, Israel-based BT9 Ltd.’s Xsense system provides detailed analytics and expert consulting to help companies better monitor product flow and mitigate risk throughout the supply chain, according to a company news release.
“We created the Xsense system in response to the food industry’s lack of real-time and early warning capabilities for consumable perishables,” Israel Ben-Tzur, BT9’s chief executive officer, said in the release. “Xsense goes far beyond conventional data logger products.”
Traditional cold chain monitoring systems measure each separate leg in a product’s journey from the manufacturer’s plant to the retail store. With Xsense, BT9 offers a more holistic approach, Ben-Tzur said.
Xsense’s technology, which uses HiTag sensors, was developed by Los Angeles-based StePac in 2007. BT9 was spun off from StePac this year to implement Xsense.
