Pescadero, Calif.-based Jacobs plans to highlight its new Kitchen Harvest Living Herbs brand at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit show in New Orleans, according to a company news release.
In addition, the organic grower-shipper is offering new Fair Trade-certified products.
The first product in the Kitchen Harvest line, Organic Living Basil, will begin shipping later this month. Product comes in 12-count boxes for easy display.
“The certified organic hydroponic process creates an ideal environment for ultimate plant health and crop performance,” Marina Pace, Jacobs’ marketing spokesperson, said in the release. “The plants are harvested with roots intact and packaged in a protective sleeve that extends the optimum greenhouse environment and shelf life. The freshest possible plants are those with roots intact.”
Also new at Jacobs is the Jacobs Farm Organic Ginger, packed in four-ounce clamshells.
“The ginger is produced in Peru through a strategic partnership with Fairtrasa, a company that shares our social mission,” said Pace.
