Kevin Hoppe, a former advertising salesman for The Packer, died Feb. 6.

Hoppe worked at The Packer from 1984 to 2000. At the time of his death, Hoppe was an advertising salesman for The Produce News.

Hoppe graduated from the University of Kansas in 1978, said former Packer publisher Robb Bertels.

The Packer’s national sales manager, Gary English, was Hoppe’s supervisor at the time he left The Packer. English said Hoppe was one of the paper’s top salesmen.

“Kevin was an extremely hard worker who took an active interest in customers and became friends with a lot of customers,” English said. “He’ll be missed.”
