King Fresh Produce LLC is installing two new cherry graders in time for the 2015 California season.
Dinuba, Calif.-based King Fresh purchased two MultiScan Technologies graders, photo with photo-optic technology, according to a news release. This will be the company’s second season shipping California cherries.
The graders will be installed at the company’s Jody Fresh packinghouse and cooling facility near Kingsburg, Calif. Installation is expected to be completed in late March.
Cherries will be sorted according to color, size, shape and defects. King Fresh expects to ship about 300,000 cases of California cherries from late April into June. The company’s acreage in the southern San Joaquin Valley is expected to be up this year.
