Shanghai, China-based distributor Lantao has a new distribution facility in Qingdao, China.
The facility is the company’s seventh fresh produce import facility, according to a company news release. Lantao both exports to and imports from North America.
In 2013, Oxnard, Calif.-based Mission Produce Inc. began shipping avocados to Lantao for distribution in China.
The company’s other facilities are in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenyang, Zhengzhou and Harbin.
Kelton, Pa.-based I Love Produce partners with Lantao on exporting ginger, garlic and organic vegetables from China to the U.S.
“Qingdao is the port and gateway for all of the produce we ship from China to North America, so it is only fitting that we have now opened a Qingdao distribution facility that will allow us to bring premium fruit from the United States and the world to the people of Shandong,” I Love Produce’s president, Jim Provost, said in the release.
Lantao’s new Qingdao facility is located on the Qingdao International Agricultural Products Market.
