Legion Logistics LLC has plans to increase its workforce and add 2,500 square feet to its Florence, Ky., headquarters to meet growing customer demand.
The Florence, Ky.-based third-party logistics provider was recently lauded by Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshears. According to a news release, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved up to $300,000 in tax incentives for the company’s expansion, through the Kentucky Business Investment program.
“When I started the business I was just hoping to keep the house and make our car payments,” Lacy Starling, co-owner, said in a release. “I thought if we could clear $50,000 a year we would be wildly successful, but I never dreamed of this.”
Legion Logistics has grown to include 31 full-time employees and posted $12 million in sales in 2012. The expansion is projected to add 24 jobs at the company.
