Riverridge Produce Marketing, a Sparta, Mich.-based apple grower-shipper, recently released the first seven videos in its “Core Facts” educational series. The videos, posted to YouTube and 2-3 minutes in length, address common concerns and questions about apples, according to a news release.

Lights, camera, apples!Each video deals with single subjects, including:

  • Apple waxing;
  • Bruising;
  • Coloration concerns;
  • Traceability;
  • Temperature control;
  • Pest prevention; and;
  • Information on GMOs.

According to Don Armock, Riveridge president, the company often receives multiple questions regarding the same issue, so it produced the videos to educate produce department managers and staff, as well as retail, wholesale, and food service apple buyers.
