Lipman has sold Fresh Horizon, its procurement solutions division, to a former employee of that business.
The Immokalee, Fla.-based grower, shipper and repacker of tomatoes and vegetables sold Fresh Horizon to Joe Murphy, who was general manager.
Fresh Horizon allows customers to source produce from a variety of vendors according to a Lipman news release.
“This transaction gives us increased alignment with our customers and focuses us on our core product mix — fresh tomatoes and eastern vegetables,” Kent Shoemaker, Lipman’s chief executive officer, said in the release.
Lipman has growing, repacking and distribution operations throughout North America. According to the release, the possesses a significant share of the U.S. fresh tomato industry.
