Jupiter, Fla.-based Locus Traxx Worldwide, a provider in perishable food monitoring, developed a new device for grab-and-go convenience.

The SmartTraxx “go” is a small monitor that accompanies shipments for real-time reporting on produce. Shippers only have to pull the battery tab and place the device in the shipment to record temperature and GPS information, which is stored on Locus Traxx’s cloud platform,

“Real-time location and temperature is the key to saving loads before there is damage,” said Locus Traxx chief executive officer, David Benjamin, in a news release. “Low cost and no need to return the go makes it a direct replacement for old time temperature loggers.”

The device will be available in North America early next year.
