People in more than 25 Allen Lund Co. departments and offices have been splashed with buckets of water in the ALS ice bucket challenge.
The La Canada Flintridge, Calif.-based Lund is helping raise money for the ALS Association to find a cure for ALS, also called Lou Gehrig’s disease.
To date, the national third-party transportation broker has raised more than $5,000 and the 25 ice bucket challenges between Lund departments and offices is helping support the Washington, D.C.-based ALS Association’s mission to find a cure for ALS while supporting quality of care for ALS sufferers, according to a news release.
As of Aug. 24, the ALS Association reports receiving $70.2 million in donations compared to the $2.5 million they received during the same time period last year, according to the release.
“We want to thank so many in our company for taking part in the ice bucket challenge,” Allen Lund, the company’s chief executive officer and president, said in the release. “The participation has been impressive and the donations have been honorable. We have been blessed with so much, it is important to give back.”
