This is the second year Maglio has earned this level of certification, according to a news release.
The British Retail Consortium Global Standards include four technical requirements for organizations to help maintain safe food production, packaging, storage and distribution.
This year’s certification included more extensive requirements on foreign body control, hygiene, housekeeping, allergens and voluntary unannounced audit scheme and streamlined clauses for consistency of grading, the release said.
“In order to maintain our commitment to food safety and keep in touch with the ever changing government regulations and recommendations, we must take a vigilant approach,” Sam Maglio, president, said in the release. “Renewing our BRC certification each year is just one way we can remain proactive.”
