The Orlando-based National Mango Board, in conjunction with the University of California, Davis, will host a free Web seminar on mango ripening April 24 at 4 p.m. Eastern.
The session, designed for importers, wholesalers, brokers, distributors, merchandisers and retailers, will focus on the importance of ripening as well as discuss the new mango handling and ripening protocol, according to a news release.
The seminar will feature Carlos Crisosto, a postharvest Extension specialist with the UC Davis Department of Plant Sciences, who will talk about the benefits of a ripening program and share insights into its effects on consumers.
Produce Retailer magazine editor and The Packer retail editor Pamela Riemenschneider also will join the seminar to discuss ripening success stories and produce industry trends.
