Mann Packing Co. has named Kim St. George director of marketing and innovation.
St. George was previously senior director of marketing at another Salinas, Calif., shipper, Taylor Farms Retail. She held various marketing positions for 15 years at River Ranch Fresh Foods before joining its parent company, Taylor Farms, in July 2012.
At Mann Packing she succeeds Christine Keller, who took a sabbatical in June, said Gina Nucci, director of healthy culinary innovation.
St. George has 20 years of experience in the fresh produce industry including package design, product development, private brand management and consumer programs.
She will direct Mann Packing’s new product development staff and provide category management and consumer insights. She will also oversee various marketing and packaging projects.
“We’re excited to have a professional with Kim’s level of marketing acuity join our team,” Lorri Koster, chief executive officer, said in a news release. “We’re innovating how we go to market and Kim will be a big part of our future marketing plans.”
St. George will report to Koster and work out of the company’s Salinas headquarters. She plans to continue to participate in the United Fresh Produce Association’s marketing and merchandising council and the Produce Marketing Association’s exhibitor advisory committee.
