The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources’ MassGrown & Fresher Initiative is the recipient of a “Bright Ideas” award from the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
The Center recognized more than 100 innovative government initiatives as Bright Ideas, according to a news release.
MassGrown & Fresher Initiative supports locally grown/produced products, according to the release.
“Thanks to a supportive (Gov. Devol Patrick and Lt. Gov. Tim Murray) administration, our continued efforts to expand connections between consumers and our local farmers are ‘bearing fruit’” Greg Watson, Department of Agricultural Resources commissioner, said in the release.
