Maxco Supply Inc. is introducing the iBeam — a solution to fight stacked cartons of fruits and vegetables from sagging from the weight.
Designed to prevent sagging in long-term storage, Parlier, Calif.-based Maxco’s iBeam can be used across the company’s product line, according to a Maxco news release.
Maxco’s president, Max Flaming, worked for a decade to perfect the iBeam.
“I wanted to produce boxes that would revolutionize the industry,” Flaming said in the release. “Not only does the iBeam provide less sag and longer storage ability — it is also fully recyclable. Maxco is pleased to offer growers the peace of mind that a stronger, more protective container provides.”
The patent-pending iBeam is available with Maxco’s LTS and MaxGuard coatings, which have been approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for exports.
Maxco plans to showcase the iBeam at Booth 880 at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit convention Oct. 26-28 in Anaheim, Calif.
