Maxwell Chase rolls out individual-slice packaging

Courtesy Maxwell Chase TechnologiesAtlanta-based Maxwell Chase Technologies has introduced packaging for individual slices of pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew melons.

The company’s Fruit Pop pouches can maintain the shelf life of cut fruit for more than 10 days, according to a news release.

Absorbent technology is the key to the pouches’ long shelf life, company officials said. The pouches are easy to open and tamper-proof, and fruit doesn’t drip after they’re opened, said Tom Gautreaux, Maxwell Chase’s national sales director.

“Customers have been asking for a way to pack single serve fresh cut fruit portions with extended shelf life, and this is the perfect cost effective packaging,” Gautreaux said.

Fruit Pop pouches are ideal for kids’ snacks, school lunches and convenience stores, he said.
