The retailer posted a new info graphic on its social media sites promoted the numbers of its locally grown program, which includes more than 75 fruits and vegetables from local growers.
Highlights of Meijer’s annual locally grown footprint:
1 million pounds of Michigan asparagus;
3.5 million pints of Michigan blueberries;
40 million pounds of potatoes from Michigan, Ohio and Indiana;
750,000 pounds of Michigan and Ohio lettuces;
2.5 million pounds of Michigan, Ohio and Illinois cabbage;
11 million ears of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio sweet corn.
