Melissa’s Produce is The Produce Mom’s newest partner, becoming the 20th company to join Lori Taylor of Indianapolis Fruit Co. in her efforts to increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The Los Angeles-based Melissa’s markets specialty produce including Champagne grapes, which the mommy blogger is featuring as the Produce Mom Pick of the Week, according to a news release.
“Most people familiar with Champagne grapes know them as a dessert fruit or gourmet garnish,” Taylor said in the release. “I’m challenging all The Produce Mom followers to try Champagne grapes in a recipe like ‘Nutty Wild Rice Salad with Champagne Grapes.’ It’s an elegant take on a traditional pasta salad.”
As a Produce Mom Pick of the Week, Melissa’s Champagne grapes are featured in Taylor’s social media posts, which include tips on selection, use, storage and serving. Retailers who participate in Pick of the Week program use signs and recipe cards to help promote the featured commodities.
