Label maker Mepco Label Systems is moving its headquarters.
Mepco plans to begin production at a new 15-acre, 200,000-square-foot facility in Lodi, Calif., in November, according to a company news release. The company has been based in Stockton, Calif.
Mepco makes labels for fresh produce and other foods, wines and consumer and industrial goods. Founded by Alfred and Carol Gassner, the family business is now run by Jennifer Tracy, Philip Tracy and Karl Gassner.
Consolidating the company’s operations in one facility was a major reason for the move, Jennifer Tracy, Mepco’s president, said in the release.
“We were bursting at the seams, and this move will allow us so many more opportunities for growth,” she said. “The city was incredibly helpful and welcoming. They have really made us aware how much Lodi wants new businesses and growth.”
The move also will allow Mepco to begin clamshell labeling and to expand existing printing capabilities, Karl Gassner, the company’s executive vice president, said in the release.
