Lettuce Stackers, the latest addition to Misionero Vegetables’ washed and trimmed product line, was developed with foodservice needs in mind.
“The uniform leaf size makes it ideal for deli and fast-food operations,” Dan Canales, vice president of sales and marketing, said in a news release. “The leaf span allows for a variety of menu applications such as sandwiches, burgers and wraps without having to trim the leaf.”
The Gonzales, Calif.-based grower-shipper introduced Lettuce Stackers in July at the Produce Marketing Association Foodservice Conference. The size and shape are designed for stacking on sandwiches, burgers, wraps and pitas. The product was also designed to maintain its texture when combined with hot or cold foods.
It’s available year-round.
