Keith Mixon, president of Dole Berry Co. LLC, Watsonville, Calif., and Jerry Mixon, Dole Berry’s director of domestic production, plan to leave their positions by early November. Greg Mixon, vice president of sales, left in late January, Keith Mixon said.

In 2011, the three co-owners of the Winter Haven, Fla.-based blueberry grower-shipper SunnyRidge Farm, sold their operation to Dole Food Co. Inc., Westlake Village, Calif.

The departures are amicable, Keith Mixon said.

Mixon declined to state his plans and said his other brothers are also considering their futures.

Mixon, who was SunnyRidge’s president, heads Dole Berry, a subsidiary of Monterey, Calif.-based Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc.

“During the transitions, I decided it was time for me to retire from Dole and move on,” Mixon said. “As for my career accomplishments, it was great to be a part of a family business that continued to grow and to transition to a large multinational company like Dole. As a berry company, we have done great things together and I see great things ahead for Dole and its customers.”

The former Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association chairman said he expects to remain in contact with Dole people after his departure.

“Our focus is supporting the executive team transitioning out at Dole Fresh Vegetable,” Mixon said. “Jerry and I want to make sure we leave everything in a very positive way. To us, this will be the most successful part of our careers, to hand over the business with momentum going for us.”

Greg Mixon was SunnyRidge’s vice president and sales manager while Jerry Mixon was SunnyRidge’s vice president and farming production manager.
