Seeking to recognize outstanding leadership in food safety, NSF International is calling for nominations for its food safety leadership awards program.
The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based NSF is encouraging foodservice operators, manufacturers, researchers and academic individuals to submit nominations for its 2012 program, according to a news release.
In its ninth year, the program seeks to honor individuals in the categories of education/training, equipment design, packaging innovation, product development, research advances, system improvement, and technology breakthroughs.
NSF also wants nominations for its lifetime achievement award.
An independent panel of food safety experts is set to judge nominations on creativity, innovation, design, contribution to the advancement of food safety, and overall quality of contributions.

NSF’s global food safety division conducts auditing and certification for the produce, agriculture, poultry, egg and livestock industries.
