Bard Valley Natural Delights hosted the Medjool Date Blogger Summit to reach out to consumers through their guests.
“After tremendous success with our first blogger summit, we recognize the importance and influence that culinary bloggers have on their readers who are eager to be introduced to new flavors and experiences in regards to the way they cook and entertain,” said Natural Delights global director of marketing, Dave Anderson, in a news release.
The bloggers toured the grower’s facilities, picking dates from the Medjool orchards, watching the sorting process and visiting Bard Valley’s original six trees planted in the 1940s.
Natural Delights also played to the bloggers’ culinary interests through two dining experiences. The first, at the local River City Grill where they were served Medjool-inspired dishes like spring rolls with spicy Medjool date peanut sauce, Medjool date and pesto pasta and Medjool date crème brûlée. The second was a Mexican-themed event at the Tina’s Cocina where executive Chef Alex Trujillo served Medjool date sweet tamales with coconut sorbet and a roasted beet and watermelon salad with Medjool date dressing.
Natural Delights encouraged their guests to educate their readers about the taste and health benefits of their Medjool Dates, according to the release.
