Naturipe Farms, Salinas, Calif., has hired Donna Lynn Johnson as the director of food safety and social responsibility.

Naturipe appoints director of food safety, social responsibilityJohnson will monitor the company’s products in social responsibility, food quality, food safety, food security, good agricultural practices and food safety compliance, according to a news release.

“Donna Lynn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the entire Naturipe Farms organization,” said Dwight Ferguson, chief executive officer of Naturipe Farms, in the release. “She has a keen understanding and appreciation for the complexities, challenges and systems that we manage in order to deliver safe, healthy and great tasting berries.”

Previously, Johnson has worked at Safeway, Dole and Greenline Foods. Recently she was an independent food safety consultant to clients including Taylor Farms, River Point Farms and HerbThyme Farms, according to the release.

She will be based in Salinas.
