Hoping to showcase the benefits of eating fresh berries, Naturipe Farms LLC is scheduled to appear on Lifetime Television’s “The Balancing Act.”
Coinciding with the peak of the U.S. blueberry season, Fourth of July and back-to-school supermarket promotions, the program’s new “MyCuisine” segments are scheduled for June 23 and July 12. The show airs daily at 7 a.m. EST and has more than 2 million viewers, according to a news release.
“The recent unveiling of the new USDA ‘MyPlate’ icon is generating a lot of positive media about the benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables — so the timing couldn’t be better,” Robert Verloop, executive vice president of marketing of the Naples, Fla.-based Naturipe, said in the release.
The five-minute segments feature one of Naturipe’s family farmers, Kable Munger of Munger Farms, Delano, Calif. In the release, Munger said the program will help show how Naturipe consists of many longtime multi-generational family farms which grow a variety of fresh berries across North America and South America.
“For years blueberries have been hailed for their numerous health benefits and high antioxidant value,” Munger said in the release.
