Linda Doherty, president and chief executive officer of the New Jersey Food Council, was named a 2013 Women of Influence in the Food Industry by the Griffin Report.

This year’s list features 68 women who “play a significant role in their company through their leadership, expertise, and dedication and even beyond their charity, philanthropy and civic work,” Karen Harty, executive vice president of the Griffin Report, said in a news release.

Doherty has been with New Jersey group for 20 years, and has served as president and CEO for the past nine years.

“On behalf of the board and membership, we are proud of Linda’s selection for this year’s Women of Influence list,” the food council’s chairman of the board, Phil Scaduto, said in the release, “She leads an engaged board and effective membership especially through a time that has been very difficult for the food business community, including ... the response and recovery efforts from super storm Sandy.”
