The New Jersey Department of Agriculture is combining its annual convention with that of another leading industry organization.

The department and the Vegetable Growers Association of New Jersey will hold a single convention and trade show in January 2012, according to a department news release.

Both organizations will conduct their own programs at the show, which is slated for the week of Jan. 16 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J.

Holding the shows together will save growers money, association president Joe Marino said in the release.

Also, the joint convention will combine the policy-related discussions of the department convention with the educational benefits of the association convention, Douglas Fisher, New Jersey’s secretary of agriculture, said in the release.
