New Jersey is trying to help young people pursuing agricultural careers through a scholarship program.
The New Jersey Department of Agriculture plans to honor one student for agricultural achievements by awarding the New Jersey Agricultural Achievement award.
Sponsored by Amy Butewicz, a former New Jersey Equestrian of the Year winner, the scholarship was created as a way of giving back to the agricultural community, according to a news release.
The $500 scholarship is designed to help its recipient start their future in agriculture, according to the release.
